Temporary Traffic Signals Installed At Ind. 15, CR 700S IntersectionCLAYPOOL – Temporary traffic signals have been installed at the intersection of Ind. 15 and CR 700S.
According to the Indiana Department of Transportation, the temporary signals, which include lights above and on the side of the road, will be used as crews make improvements to the bridge, which sits on the top of a crest.
The temporary lights have been in use by INDOT since 2016, and are used on projects that need some kind of alternative traffic maintenance 24 hours a day where the work is more short-term, according to Hunter Petroviak, public relations director for INDOT Northeast District.
The signals are pre-timed and are easy to bring in and set up for a quick lane closure.
The lights were installed Monday by Traffic Control Specialists Inc.
Workers will install a thin deck overlay, Petroviak said. Work is expected to wrap up by Aug. 11, weather permitting.
