Four teens face charges after allegedly trespassing on school property Saturday, despite being told to leave the grounds.
According to a Warsaw Police Department report, the teen-agers have been told about a dozen times that they aren't allowed to skate at Lakeview Middle School, which is included in the city's protected property ordinance banning skateboards from that location.
An employee of the school told the teens to leave, but was allegedly given an obscene gesture by one of the teens. All four then continued to skate in the plaza area of the school. When police arrived about 4:30 p.m., the teens at first reportedly ignored the officer's request for them to approach him, but then complied.
All four were preliminarily charged with trespassing and cited for violating the protected property ordinance. They are:
My-Shaun Mitchel Beam, 16, of 328 N. Park Ave., Warsaw;
Brandon Scott Sensibaugh, 16, of 328 N. Park Ave., Warsaw;
Marty Charles Mulder, 16, of 18 Henderson St., Warsaw; and
Brooks Phillip Helmuth, 16, of 211 Ra-Mar Drive, Warsaw.
After paperwork regarding the incident was completed, the four were released to parents or guardians. Their skateboards will be held by police for 30 days.
