A Warsaw man was arrested for aggravated battery following a shooting incident Friday.

Terry Lee Hughes II, 18, of 1364 Copeland St., Warsaw, was arrested Friday evening and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on one charge of aggravated battery. His bond was set at $10,000.

Hughes allegedly shot Hector Juarez in the leg Friday afternoon. Juarez said he was standing with a group of friends at 340 E. Levi Lee Road, Lot 80, in Warsaw, when a man in an older model silver Cutlass drove by and fired an unknown number of rounds then left the scene.

Juarez walked into Kosciusko Community Hospital around 2:30 p.m. with a gunshot to his upper right leg. He was treated and released for the injury

Witnesses at the scene of the shooting reportedly told police that the shooter's name was Terry. Police later learned the shooter was Hughes and arrested him without incident. The gun allegedly used in the shooting was found and taken into evidence.

Police do not know the reason for the shooting, and the incident remains under investigation.
