Editor, Times-Union: Sunday evening at about 4:25 p.m. I was driving down Fox Farm Road toward the new roundabout. I saw a nicely dressed gentleman walking along toward me upon the left of the road all bundled up. Clearly he was prepared for the weather. I happened to notice a white two-door Grand Prix with what looked to be older teenagers – or so I believe it was a Grand Prix, not entirely sure of the make of the car – driving up from behind him.
The passenger rolled the window down and held a clearly full fountain drink from a gas station or drive-thru out the window and threw it at the gentleman as they passed him. I know that it made contact with this man as I looked in my rearview mirror to see him trying to brush off his hair and coat.
I was furious! If I didn’t have a group of cars behind me I would have slammed on the brakes and turned to get the license plate of the white car to report him for assault and littering.
Some of the older teenagers these days disgust me. I say some because I know some amazing teenagers who respect people enough not to do anything rude such as throw something out their window at someone. I was just absolutely appalled at those people in that car. Why would you do something such as that?
I guess their parents didn’t raise them correctly or they wouldn’t have done such a thing. I know that I was raised with morals and respect and never in my life did I do anything like that even for a laugh. My parents raised me correctly and my children will be raised the same way.
Respect your elders. To those who participated in throwing that drink, I feel sorry for your soul, especially around Christmas. To the man who was the victim, I pray that you don’t judge all of society on those disgusting teenagers.
