A Claypool teen surrendered Tuesday morning in connection with a September fire.
Robyn Andrew Stroud, 18, of 1396 W. CR 800S, Claypool, was arrested for arson causing injury and held on a $20,000 bond.
On Sept. 29, around 1:12 a.m., Claypool Fire Department responded to a fire at an abandoned home at 1581 W. CR 800S. The fire was ruled to be arson.
An investigation led to a Warsaw teen girl, who was interviewed by the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department.
During the interview, she said that Stroud drove to a gas station and purchased gasoline and that he put some in a cup. He then drove to the abandoned house, poured the gasoline from the cup on the exterior of the house, then set it on fire.
While attending to the fire, a Claypool firefighter, Joseph Bencze, suffered a back injury. That injury caused Stroud's charge to be upgraded.
