A Warsaw woman faces multiple charges after a high-speed chase with police last week. Rachel Blankenship, 19, of 2441 CR 250S, faces a charge of resisting law enforcement, one count of possession of methamphetamine and several misdemeanor charges. On Feb. 9, a Warsaw police officer discovered a silver SUV was illegally registered. The officer went to pull over the vehicle, which was driven by Blankenship. According to a probable cause affidavit from the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, Blankenship fled from police, reaching speeds in excess of 100 mph. The vehicle then hit a fence at the intersection of Fox Farm Road and CR 200W, Warsaw. Blankenship was able to free the vehicle from the fence, but then was stopped by police. Before police stopped her, she hit a Warsaw police car, causing $500 in damage. After police stopped Blankenship’s vehicle, she exited the vehicle and tried to escape on foot, the affidavit states. After police apprehended Blankenship, they searched her car and found methamphetamine and paraphernalia. Blankenship was arrested Feb. 10 but was formally charged Wednesday.
