Technical Tuesday Performances now free for kids

Posted
Every summer the Wagon Wheel offers a few shows that are fun for the whole family.
This year is the inaugural not-for-profit season, which means new programming at the WWT.
One such program is Wagon Wheel Jr., which made its debut in February. In addition, the Wagon Wheel announces Technical Tuesday Performances are now free for kids (ages 4-18) for “Peter Pan” (June 5), “Legally Blonde” (June 19), and “Carousel” (July 3).
Technical Tuesday is the final dress rehearsal before opening night. You can “technically” see the show in its entirety as it will be performed for a public audience.
“There will be starts and stops,” said Scott Michaels, Wagon Wheel Theatre artistic director. “We will be fine-tuning and working out the last little kinks before opening night.”
Show times will begin between 8 and 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays before opening night of each show. Start times are dependent upon the afternoon’s rehearsal and parents or guardians can purchase half-price tickets.
“We wanted to offer an opportunity to see a different aspect of show production, something you couldn’t see at other venues,” says Michaels. “We are committed to being a teaching theater and hopefully this new program will give children interested in performing arts a behind-the-scenes perspective and maybe even fuel a desire to participate in our junior shows.”
Technical Tuesday is sponsored by DePuy. Tickets for Technical Tuesday’s are only available by phone or by visiting the box office. They will not be sold online. For more information, call 574-267-8041.
