Teacher Appreciation Week is May 7-11, and Warsaw Education Foundation offers a way for people to say “thank you” to their favorite Warsaw Community Schools teacher or staff person through the foundation’s “Honor an Educator” program.
The packages are available now through April 25.
With a contribution to the WEF in honor of any WCS educator, the foundation will send an “Honored Educator” pennant or pin for workplace display and your personal note to the honoree. Educators can include teachers, bus drivers, secretaries, custodians, principals, cooks, school nurses or volunteers within WCS.
Warsaw Community High School graduating seniors may want to consider a tribute to an educator who has helped or encouraged them during their WCS career.
WCS staff members may want to consider a “thank you” to a fellow staff member who has been a mentor to them or assisted them in some way.
Members of the community are invited to thank a friend or neighbor who is an employee of WCS.
“Honor an Educator” packages will be delivered to recipients during Teacher Appreciation Week, May 7-11.
Donations will be used to help fund the Red Apple Grant awards, which are monetary grants presented each year to Warsaw educators for projects that advance enrichment opportunities, provide innovative and inventive teaching and promote academic exploration in Warsaw Community Schools.
The foundation also relies on gifts to help fund the Non-traditional Employment for Women Opportunities Workshop, WCS’s chess tournaments, WCS Summer Enrichment Camp scholarships and the Partners in Education school and business mentoring programs.
A community non-profit organization, the WEF champions academic innovation and excellence in WCS.
To participate in the “Honor an Educator” program, pick up an award form from your school’s office or log on to the WEF website, www.WarsawEducationFoundation.org, where you will find a form you can print out and mail postmarked by April 25.
