Tea Party

Posted
Editor, Times-Union:

Of late, the Tea Party has become synonymous with public alarm and deep concern over the reckless and most often absurd solutions heartily endorsed by our so-called "representatives" in Washington. For months, We The People have gathered to voice our heartfelt concerns. We have personal statements such as yard signs, bumper stickers, and t-shirts all in an attempt to communicate with out elected representatives ... all to no avail. Ironically, the most direct attention we have managed to elicit is vile and degrading as exemplified by our notorious Homeland Security Chief, Janet Neapolitano.

We the People have in our collective possession documented evidence that out representatives have personal agendas such as job security and their elite status resplendent in benefits more befitting monarchs than public servants that overshadow their mandate to be the voice of the people they allegedly represent.

We are no longer a two-party system of governance. The Washington "Power Mantra" seems to be "You had your turn (to rape and pillage) now it's our turn." Meanwhile, We the People are the resultant collaterally damaged victims. Well, now hear this, the parties (Republican, Democrats, Independents, Libertarians, ad nauseum) are over. Yes, that includes our valiant, but apparently futile Tea Parties as well.

We the people are taking our beloved country back. We are no longer debating which symptom of political illness (taxes, the economy, healthcare, immigration) should be treated first. Triage has failed. Emergency surgery is our last resort. The brain disease of the partisan Washington elite of every persuasion must be excised before it spreads, terminally, to the body politic, We the People. The party is over. We hired you, we will fire you starting in 2010 until the country is ours once more. We are one nation, indivisible. Don't tread on us. God has blessed that concept we call America.
