Taylor Cone Signs On With HillsdaleWarsaw Community High School senior Taylor Cone officially announced and signed a letter of intent Tuesday to attend Hillsdale College on a football scholarship and play for the Chargers and coach Keith Otterbein.
Cone, a three-sport athlete at Warsaw, played wide receiver where he hauled in 40 passes his senior season, served as one of the area’s top punters and played some free safety for the Tigers.
He was also a member of the sectional championship basketball squad and both last year and this year he has stood out on the tack, being named all-Northern Lakes Conference in track in the 110 hurdles, qualifying  for regionals as a junior and was an Academic All-State pick.
While Cone put up impressive stats for his teams, he was rewarded as Academic All-State for football, All-NLC in football as a senior, earned a Tiger Pride award and was a Moose Krause Award nominee.
Cone also made time to have an impact in the community.
A member of the National Honor Society, he served on committees with the Blitz and he was a member of the Tiger Student Athletic Board.
More impressive than his grit and determination in uniform was Cone’s diligence and success in the classroom where he worked his way to a 12.92 GPA on a 12-point scale, and he finished ranked 12th in his class of 492 seniors.
Cone intends to major in Biology at Hillsdale.
