Editor, Times-Union: Politicians are truly a strange lot. In the recent city elections, I heard wailing and gnashing of teeth about revenue or the lack there of. Now I open the Times-Union and find that the same politicians are harassing a small business man because of his modest tattoo sign. Who’s offended? Probably the usual list of suspects. The same people who brought us the joys of prohibition. I get offended when I drive around and am subjected to a host of threatening marquees, all tax exempt I believe, that tell me I must fall to my knees or face eternal damnation and be denied a free trip to that great Disneyland in the sky. Driving tattoo parlors out of business is along the same lines as driving abortion clinics underground. Dirty needles you know. Or you can simply wait till people are 18 and abort them in Iraq, Afghanistan and now Libya. Pro-war people are anti-abortion here but drop bombs that kill the mothers and their babies in other countries. Welcome to the Zoo. Tom Metzger Warsaw, via e-mail
