Taste Of Downtown Set May 19

Posted

The first annual "Taste of Downtown" is set for May 19 in the Center Lake Pavilion from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

An opportunity to sample what downtown Warsaw merchants and eateries have to offer, proceeds from the event will be used to help refurbish the water fountain and stone wall in the Warsaw Biblical Gardens.

Businesses scheduled to participate in the event include Bistro A'Lago, Celebrations, Courthouse Coffee, Dennie House, Dig's Diner, Fat Boy's Pizza, Le Gourmet Chocolate Shoppe, Kelainey's Ice Cream, Kentucky Fried Chicken, McDonald's Restaurant, Mosaique, Penguin Point, Subway and The Roving Chef.

Adult tickets will sell for $10 apiece; children's tickets are $5.

The Biblical Gardens, more than 20 years old, are in need of a few major repairs.

The fountain near the entrance of the gardens needs repairs - it runs from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. during the summer. It also has been decided the stone wall needs "capped" to keep water out of the mortar.

The gardens are funded with investment income and through donations.
