Continuously serving Kosciusko County since 1854
Sewer tap-on fees for Silver Fox Ridge, a duplex housing development near Harrison Elementary School, were set Monday by Warsaw City Council. The initial fee will be $2,500, with $200 per unit ($400 per duplex) to hook onto city sewer.
Council also agreed to engage a consultant to research city sewer rates, which have not increased for approximately eight years. Warsaw Mayor Jeff Plank said he anticipated holding neighborhood meetings next year to gauge the feelings of the public on sewer rates.
A street light on Mariner Drive, at the entrance to the new North Pointe Cinema, was installed by NIPSCO and approved by council. Plank said new lighting for the reconstructed "test block" of Center Street in downtown Warsaw is due anytime and will be installed as soon as it is received.
City Council meets at 7 p.m. the third Monday of each month.
