BOURBON – Tamula “Tammy” D. Sauer, 59, Bourbon, unexpectedly passed away Dec. 3, 2015, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth. She was born Sept. 17, 1956, in Warsaw, to Gerald and Jackie Copeland McIntyre. She was married to Dean, who survives. She had been a resident of Bourbon most all of her life except a short time in Texas. She was a 1975 graduate of Triton High School and attended Indiana University, Bloomington. She had worked at many of the automobile dealerships in the area in the service department area. But most of all was a homemaker and a mom. One of the most enjoyable accomplishments was she was the 1975 Triton Jr. Miss Queen. It continued to be a huge success because she made it an important part of her life. She was the director of the Junior Miss program at Triton for the past several years until her passing. In earlier years, she also helped to start the Little Miss Summerfest Pageant for the littler girls. She also enjoyed being the historian of the family. She did the genealogy and wrote journals of her life and of her family. She also enjoyed reading, music, writing, “The Waltons,” “Little House on the Prairie,” her family and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all. She also is survived by four children: David (and spouse Robin) Sauer, Bourbon; Justin Staublin, South Bend; Brandy (and spouse Shawn) Hooley, Tippecanoe; Jordan (and fiancé Taylor) Sauer, Plymouth; two brothers, Timothy D. McIntyre, Fort Wayne, and Todd (and spouse Jami) McIntyree, Bourbon; and her stepmother, Mary McIntyre, Bourbon. She was further blessed with her 10 grandchildren: Siera, Haley, Madison, Nevaeh, Hanna, Kiersten, Aiden, Brayden, Quinn and Kingston. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Zackery; and a stepfather, Buck Jones. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Bourbon First United Methodist, with Pastor Sam Ochstein officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bourbon. Calling is from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the church.
