AKRON - T. Lucile Meredith, 96, formerly of Akron, died at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 22, 2008, in Bethany Pointe Health Campus, Anderson, where she resided.
She was born Dec. 21, 1911, in Howard County, to Henry and Melissa Barnhisel Schafer. On June 24, 1934, in Kokomo, she married Lonzo D. Meredith, who died Dec. 29, 1994.
She worked at the Akron School cafeteria for 26 years and was a homemaker. She was a member of Akron United Methodist Church for more than 60 years, and taught Sunday school for 50 years. He was a 1930 Akron High School graduate and was a member of Amicus Club.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Ann (and spouse Robert) Gardner, Fort Wayne; two granddaughters, Denise Paramore and Dr. Angie King; two great-grandchildren, Nick and Julia Paramore; and a sister, Mary Hines VanSlyke, Pendelton. She was preceded in death by a half brother.
Services were at 11 a.m. today at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, with the Rev. Harold L. Leininger officiating. Burial was in Akron Cemetery.
