Syracuse-Turkey Creek Township Public Library Gives Reopening Update

Posted
SYRACUSE – As the isolation during the pandemic continues, the staff at the Syracuse Public Library is anxious for a return to the library. The health and safety of our staff and the community is of utmost importance. To that end, the library is using a phased-in approach to reopening.

Phase ll: The library will be closed to the public until June 1. During this time, the library will be offering curbside pick-up on the Harrison Street side of the building for library materials.

Phase lll: The library will be closed for walk-in visits, but copy, fax, Notary service and public computer use will be available by appointment. Curbside service will continue.

Phase lV: The Syracuse library will be open shorter hours and there will be time limits for visits and computer use. Social distancing will be in effect and the public will not be able to use the public areas for study or reading. The curbside service will continue.

Phase V: The library will return to regular hours and use, but social distancing will still be in effect.

Throughout this time, library staff will be wearing protective equipment and following a stringent sanitary protocol. Materials will be quarantined and cleaned before reshelving. The Summer Reading Program for children and teens will be online this year.

Until Phase V, hours will be shorter, visits will be limited, and programs will be virtual or outside the building. We are continuing to receive guidance from state government. The library is not sure when each phase will go into effect, so please bear with us. Library staff will inform the community as it prepares to move to the next phase.
