Syracuse Police Investigating StabbingSYRACUSE – Syracuse Police are investigating a stabbing that took place Wednesday night at Dollar General.
According to Syracuse Police Chief Jim Layne, at 7:22 p.m. Wednesday officers were dispatched to the Dollar General store at 730 S. Huntington St. in reference to a stabbing.
The investigation determined the stabbing was the result of a verbal dispute in the parking lot and resulted in a 38-year-old Syracuse man being stabbed in the thigh.
The suspect fled in a vehicle, driven by Joshua D. Miller, 32, of Syracuse. Miller was arrested and charged with being an accomplice to battery with a deadly weapon resulting in bodily injury and taken to the Kosciusko County Jail.
The victim was taken by private vehicle to Goshen General Hospital for treatment.
The investigation is ongoing, Layne said. Syracuse police were assisted by the Kosciusko County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Indiana State Police, Milford and North Webster police departments and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office.
