Syracuse Man Recovering After Friday Rollover CrashSYRACUSE - A Syracuse man is in a Fort Wayne hospital after being ejected from his vehicle Friday evening in the northeast corner of Kosciusko County.

Kosciusko County Sheriff's Dept. deputies responded at approximately 5:08 p.m. Friday to a report of a vehicle that had crashed and ejected the driver along CR 1250N, west of County Line Road.

Emergency personnel from Syracuse EMS and Fire Rescue arrived and immediately requested Lutheran Air helicopter to the scene because of the driver's injuries. KCSD officers arrived and requested the Kosciusko County crash investigation team at the scene.Team members stated it appeared that the driver, Jason Garber, 26, Syracuse, was westbound on CR 1250N when, for an unknown reason, his vehicle left the south side of the roadway. Garber's 1989 Chevrolet pickup truck rolled over several times, ejecting him into a ditch in a field. Garber was pulled from the water-filled ditch by a passing motorist and was then airlifted from the scene to Fort Wayne.

Garber was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was listed in critical but stable condition at Lutheran Hospital over the weekend.

As of this morning, Garber's condition had been upgraded to fair.

The crash is still under investigation at this time by the Kosciusko County FACT/Crash Investigation Team pending legal blood draws.
