SYRACUSE – Timothy Joe Hofmann, who was sought by law officers throughout northeast Indiana, was taken into custody at 6:50 p.m. Tuesday in northern Kosciusko County. Hofmann, 29, of 6281 E. Margaret Drive, Syracuse, was arrested on a warrant from an Indiana agency, and charges of possession of meth and marijuana, after Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Dept. deputies, along with officers from the Syracuse Police Department, responded Tuesday afternoon to 6281 E. Margaret Drive, Syracuse. Officers entered the dwelling and located Hofmann hiding under a blanket at the house. Officers located a handgun in his possession as they took Hofmann into custody. Deputies also discovered that Hofmann possessed methamphetamine, marijuana and several allegedly stolen items. Those items include various construction tools and a stolen 2003 Honda motorcycle from Noble County. Hofmann was transported to the Kosciusko County Jail where he is being held with a $5,250 bond. He also is being held for Noble and Lagrange County Sheriff’s Departments warrants related to intimidation, resisting law enforcement, possession of synthetic marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and probation violation.
