SYRACUSE - A Syracuse man was arrested late Wednesday night on a charge of rape.

Christopher Michael Harris, 30, of 407 N. Main St., Syracuse, was taken into custody at his residence by Syracuse police on a warrant issued by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor's Office. Harris was subsequently booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on a $10,000 bond.

Along with the rape charge, Harris faces charges of strangulation, criminal deviant conduct, domestic battery in the presence of a child and criminal confinement.

According to Syracuse Town Marshal Tony Ciriello, the case dates back to a domestic dispute incident that occurred Jan. 24.

"Based on our investigation, and after conferring with the prosecutor's office, the other charges were added and an arrest warrant was issued," Ciriello said.

The Syracuse Police Department investigated.
