Posted

SYRACUSE - A Syracuse man was jailed Monday night after allegedly firing a weapon into the air outside his residence.

Randy K. Lewallen, 44,of 6706 E. CR 1120N, Syracuse, is being held without bond in the Kosciusko County Jail on a charge of intimidation.

According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department report, Lewallen was yelling at a neighbor as she pulled into her driveway, telling her he "wanted to finish the problem tonight" and that he "had his guns loaded." Police said Lewallen is out on bond for a similar incident that occurred in January and involved the neighbor's husband.

Another neighbor also complained about Lewallen firing the weapon.

Lewallen reportedly told police that he was using a .22-caliber handgun to shoot at stray cats about three hours prior to the 10:35 p.m. incident Monday, but that he didn't fire the gun during the incident involving his neighbor.
