Symphony Of The Lakes Concert Dec. 12

Posted
WINONA LAKE – Symphony of the Lakes will present its holiday concert, “Winter Magic,” at 2 p.m. Dec. 12 at Rodeheaver Auditorium.
The concert will feature a variety of music from Disney’s “Frozen,” Christmas classics and a narration of Clement Clarke Moore’s “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.”
The event will feature the vocal talents of approximately 165 students from the choral programs of Warsaw Community High School, Lakeview Middle School and Wagon Wheel Jr.
“It is great to give the students an opportunity to perform with our symphony,” Musical Director Thomas Stirling said. “I am confident that both our audiences and the students will find the experience something they will remember for a very long time.”
Children at the event are in for special treats, including a visit with Santa Claus, according to a press release from the Symphony.
The Symphony of the Lakes held auditions Sept. 19 to add new members to its roster for the 2015-2016 season. The new orchestra members include: Michael O’Gieblyn, Winona Lake, principal second violin; Jae Sung Lee, South Bend, section violin; Joshua Yoder, Goshen, section violin; David Machavariani, South Bend, section cello; John Meulink, Warsaw, utility and section horn; and Pauline Benner, Fort Wayne, second oboe.
Tickets are on sale at Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts or can be purchased online at wagonwheelcenter.org. The Symphony encourages purchasing tickets in advance, although admission will also be available at the door, depending on availability. The cost of admission is $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and $5 for children up to age 12.
