Christmas came early Wednesday morning for children in Warsaw's Head Start program.
Symmetry Medical employees donated bags of toys that will be distributed to approximately 135 Head Start children. Items such as coloring books, stuffed animals, dolls, and book bags were donated.Symmetry Medical held a toy collection drive for two weeks, according to Loreen Lemon, Symmetry Medical human resources training specialist.
Lynne Dittman, Head Start director, said the toys are appreciated.
"There are so many families out of work that are not able to afford toys for their children," Dittman said.
She said Head Start receives contributions from the community throughout the year.
Head Start provides services to families in poverty for preschool-aged children.
Lemon said the company participates in charity events throughout the year.
"We're fortunate to have jobs and are happy to give back to the community," Lemon said.
Lemon dropped off the toys at Head Start Wednesday morning with the help of Symmetry Medical employees Brittany Martin, Tim Smith, Dana Landry and Barbara Chipps.
Smith said he was glad to help donate the toys.
"We've had a good year and are happy to help out," Smith said.
