Symmetry A United Way Pacesetter

Posted
Using a variety of activities, Symmetry Medical hopes to double its amount raised for the annual United Way campaign.

This week, Symmetry’s campaign included a movie day, hot dog and lemonade stand, and Wednesday was highlighted by an ice cream social.

As a pacesetter company, Symmetry hopes to doubles its amount from 2010 and raise $14,000 for the United Way.

United Way funds its programs and services through its annual fundraising campaign.

It’s the jump of Pacesetters like Symmetry to get that kick started.

Symmetry Medical has 575 employees with two offices in Warsaw and one in Claypool.

Laurel Richendollar serves on a four-person team that has coordinated events for Symmetry’s campaign.

Richendollar said Symmetry’s move to a Pacesetter company was because of the company’s CEO.

“Tom Sullivan is our new CEO,” said Richendollar. “He’s a big supporter of United Way. The employees have been great during the whole campaign.”

Besides themes like the movie day and ice cream social, employees could also buy concessions all week.
The company also has held raffles.

The company received donations for the raffle that include a 32-inch flat screen television, Walmart gift cards, North Pointe Cinemas coupons and a wall hanging from Reinholt’s Town Square Furniture.

Symmetry is hoping for 50-percent participation from its employees.
