The girls swimming postseason began Thursday night, with Warsaw hosting its own sectional and Wawasee traveling to Concord. Competition began with Thursday’s prelims, where the top 16 qualifiers move on to Saturday’s finals, as the top eight will compete in the championship heat and places 9-16 swim in the consolation. At Warsaw, the host Lady Tigers will vie for their first sectional crown since 2011 by putting at least one swimmer in 10 of the 11 championship heats and two swimmers in four. Freshman Brenna Morgan earned the top seed in the 50 free and 100 free, while she also being a part of the top-seeded 200 medley relay with Megan Bixler, Ashley Van Wormer and Erin Sandberg. In Dunlap, the 10th-ranked Wawasee Lady Warriors return to the site where they won their first Northern Lakes Conference title in 17 years two weeks ago and where they will now look to claim their first sectional title in 14 years. Primed for that first sectional crown since they won three straight between 1997-99, the Lady Warriors will have at least two competitors in the championship heat of seven events, as well as three in two. Junior Breanna Robinson earned the top seed in the 100 fly and 100 back, while joining Kendra Miller, Kayla Hershberger and Paige Miller on the top-seeded 400 free relay.
