FORT WAYNE – Sweetwater Studios, the recording studio complex of music retailer Sweetwater Sound, has announced the opening of its 2021 Songwriting Contest.
Qualifying songwriters will have the chance to enter and win a full recording and production package from the producers and session musicians of Sweetwater Studios.
The winning artist will be welcomed into the studio to record the contest-winning song with three-time Grammy-winning producer Phil Naish, who has worked with Elton John, Kenny Chesney and Kenny Rogers. The winning artist also will work with the Sweetwater Studios in-house musicians, which consists of Naish as well as drummer Nick D’Virgilio, who has worked with Genesis, Tears for Fears and Sheryl Crow; guitarist, Don Carr, who has worked with the Oak Ridge Boys, Marie Osmond and James Brown; and bassist, Dave Martin, who has worked with Ricky Skaggs, Eric Johnson and Steve Vai.
The studio is currently accepting entries, and all interested participants can enter their song demo at www.sweetwaterstudios.com/2021-songwriting-contest/.
The winning package is valued at $2,500, and entries are due by May 1.
