Elkhart County Sheriff's deputies are searching for the suspects who shot a Syracuse man Wednesday morning.
Mark A. Montgomery, 37, Front Street, was treated at Goshen General hospital for a gunshot wound to his head and one to his buttocks. He was later released.
Montgomery told police that he had been with associates early Wednesday morning. Two suspects drove him to Jackson Township Cemetery, near New Paris, where one of the suspects was supposed to pay Montgomery money owed to him.
According to Montgomery, each suspect brandished a gun and shot Montgomery as he tried to run away. The two suspects left him in the cemetery.
Montgomery said he went to two houses before a family agreed to drive him to Syracuse. Police found Montgomery in Syracuse going from door to door in the neighborhood where the people dropped him off.
Montgomery was reportedly shot with a handgun and a .22 rifle.
Elkhart County Sheriff's Department is continuing the investigation.
