SILVER LAKE - Police are searching for a man who allegedly robbed three customers at knifepoint this morning at Sand's Mini-Mart.
Three men were forced to the gas station floor by the robber while a store clerk locked herself in a back room and called police.
The man reportedly entered Sand's, on Jefferson Street, Silver Lake, around 4:27 this morning, shortly after a clerk unlocked the doors to open the store.
The clerk told police she ran into the back and locked herself in the office when she saw the man with the knife. She then called 911.
The husband of the clerk then entered the store, and the robber reportedly asked him for all his money. When the man said he had no money, the robber allegedly told him to get on the floor and keep his face down.
Another man entered the business, and later told police the robber pointed the knife at his stomach and asked for his money.
As the robber was leaving, a third man came into the mini mart and was also allegedly threatened with the knife.
The suspect reportedly took cash from at least two of the victims and left the store, apparently walking to a waiting car.
None of the witnesses was able to give police information on the vehicle other than the suspect headed west.
