Suspect Fires Shots At Workers

Police are looking for information in a drive-by shooting that occurred early this morning near the intersection of Ind. 15 and U.S. 30.

No injuries were reported when an unknown person fired eight to 10 shots at workers from Michiana Contractors. The crew was at a work trailer on Ind. 15, north of the U.S. 30 overpass near Warsaw.

According to a press release from the Warsaw Police Department, an officer in the vicinity when the incident occurred about 4 a.m. heard the gunfire and immediately responded to the scene. Michiana Contractors employees called 911 via a cellular telephone and officers also were dispatched from Indiana State Police.

The vehicle used in the shooting is described as an older blue Camaro and it was last seen traveling northbound on Ind. 15. An attempt to locate the vehicle was unsuccessful.

Police found four bullet holes in a company pickup truck and a trailer.

Officials did not speculate on why the shooting might have occurred.
