Suspect Breaks Rules At Halfway House, Put Back In Jail

After being kicked out of Serenity House, Warsaw’s Hannah Marie Brown
was sent
back to jail.
Brown, 23, of 19 EMS B60D Lane, Warsaw, was initially arrested April 8 for corrupt business influence. Brown was sentenced to spend time in the Serenity House, a halfway house in Warsaw, but did not follow the rules of the sentence. She was booked back into Kosciusko County Jail Monday morning.
Brown, and Steven Gasaway, who was involved in the same incident, were arrested April 8 in Oswego after Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department officers found them hiding in a boat near Tippecanoe Lake. When officers arrived, the two had moved inside a boat on the property. As officers approached, Gasaway attempted to flee on foot. He was quickly tackled and arrested, while Brown had stayed inside the boat.
According to a press release, officers threatened to send the K-9 unit inside the boat. Brown then exited the boat without resisting and was arrested.
According to the probable cause affidavit provided by Kosciusko County Prosecutors, Brown and Gasaway stole a total $3,749.35 worth of merchandise from Walmart and Radio Shack on seven different occasions between Jan. 3 and Feb. 6.
