NORTH WEBSTER – Susan Marie Tyrrell Phillippe, 55, went home to Jesus April 3, 2015, in Goshen Hospital after a long battle with breast cancer.
She was born Aug. 14, 1959, in Englewood, N.J., to Milt and Gretchen Phillips Tyrrell. On Dec. 22, 2012, at Olive Mennonite Church, Elkhart, she married Robert Joseph Phillippe, who survives.
She grew up primarily in New Hampshire, Michigan and Illinois, where she graduated from Marquette Manor Christian Academy, Downers Grove, Ill. After a year of college, she toured the nation for three years with The Agape Players Christian Troupe based in Lake Wales, Fla.
Her warm and caring personality drew people to her.  She was a champion for truth. Her joyful spirit and sense of humor in the midst of great suffering were an inspiration to all and a testimony for her faith in Christ.
She was fortunate to have two loving church families at Olive Mennonite Church and North Webster Church of God. The family's deepest thanks go out to the ladies of Olive Mennonite Church, who maintained a 24-hour bedside vigil during her last weeks.
She is greatly missed by her family and all with whom she came in contact.
Also surviving are her parents, Elkhart; two children, Grace Margaret (and spouse Isaac) Blosser, Seattle, Wash., and Lewis Jay Tyrrell, Minneapolis, Minn.; two stepsons, SSGT Bo (and spouse Amy) Hall and Kasey, Topeka, Kan., and Aaron (and spouse Allison) Phillippe, Avondale, Ariz.; three siblings: Timothy Tyrrell, Greenville, S.C.; Rebecca (and spouse Robert) Fletcher and their six children, West Chicago, Ill.; and Lois Lewis and her four daughters, Bartlett, Ill.
Services are at 4 p.m. today at Olive Mennonite Church and at 3 p.m. Tuesday at North Webster Church of God. Burial is Tuesday in Oswego Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Olive Mennonite Church, and from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at North Webster Church of God.
