Susan Elnora Riggleman Brennan, 86, of Warsaw, passed away at 6:15 a.m. March 17, 2013, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.
She was born March 7, 1927, in Piqua, Ohio, to Samuel Harvey and Hazel Elsie Johnson Riggleman. On Aug. 15, 1948, in Piqua, she married Robert Edward Brennan, who died in January 1996.
A resident of Warsaw since 1951, she was a member of First United Methodist Church, Warsaw. After 30 years at Brennan Pharmacy, she retired in 1991.
She was a graduate of Central High School, Piqua,  and received a bachelor’s degree in education from Manchester College. She also received a real estate license and an associate’s degree for paralegal at Butler University.
She and her husband taught school in Lake Station (formerly East Gary), Connersville, Bloomington and Warsaw. She was a former writer for the South Bend Tribune and the Indianapolis Star.
Her community activities included: past president of American Association of University Women; past president and past secretary of Clio Literary Club; and a member of Delta Theta Tau Sorority, the Live and Learn Home Economics Club, Lakeland Art Association, Lakeland Community Concerts, Monthly Book Club, the Kosciusko County Historical Society and the Indiana Association. She was a former volunteer for the Historical Museum, Mobile Meals and the hospital.
A housewife, mother and grandmother, she is survived by a daughter, Patricia “Patsy” See, Zionsville,  a son, James “Jim” Brennan, San Ramon, Calif.; five grandchildren: Kevin Martin, Timothy Brennan and Susannah Patricia See, and Sean Patrick and Kelly Siobhan Brennan; and a great-grandchild, Robert See. She also was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, Warsaw, with Pastor Toni Carmer officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
