Dan was born June 2, 1938, in South Bend, to Allan and Cora Shanley Willis.
He married Dorothy Thompson on April 12, 1969, in Warsaw.
His children are Sharissa (Hugh) Hazeltine, Dan (Beth) Willis, Shawnita Steffen, Susie (Steve Patterson), Shartrina (Matt) White, Sheila (Rich) Groninger and Duane Roger, deceased.
He has 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
The children hosted a surprise birthday party at his granddaughter’s home.
