Editor, Times-Union:
I am writing today to ask my fellow delegates to reelect Diego Morales for Indiana Secretary of State. As Indiana’s chief election officer, he made Indiana the 7th highest scoring state in election integrity according to the Heritage Foundation. For that reason, he deserves a second term.
Since becoming the Indiana Secretary of State, Diego has stood up to the investment firm Blackrock over its support of ESG scores, pushed to remove noncitizens from the voter rolls, and advocated for voter ID requirements for mail-in ballots, which the state legislature made law. Outside of elections, he’s also launched free vehicle reports on used cars for Hoosier buyers, pursued a $106 million settlement from investment advisor Vanguard over failure to supervise investors, and visited all of Indiana’s 92 counties to strengthen relationships with Hoosier communities and receive feedback from his constituents. His hard work and dedication shows his capabilities to do the job and commitment to serving the public.
Diego also has plans for once he’s reelected. Specifically, he wants to modernize our voter system, which he called “outdated” at a recent meeting he had with delegates, and continue to support legislation that would protect election integrity in the state of Indiana. For that reason, Indiana Republican delegates should once again make him the nominee for Secretary of State and let him continue to do the good work he’s doing in Indianapolis.
Disclaimer: I have not received money from his campaign nor do I work for his campaign.
