All of the sixth-grade students at Triton Elementary School put their final touches on their sun models. Students learned that the sun is in the Milky Way Galaxy, and it is considered a medium-sized star and it has several layers. The students had to identify and label the core, convective zone, radiative zone, chromosphere, corona, sunspots, prominence, photosphere and solar flare. Pictured (L to R) are Abby Viers, Haley Carson and Delanie Miller.
