Summer Scholarships Available From Fulton County Community Foundation

ROCHESTER – The Fulton County Community Foundation is offering many scholarship opportunities this summer and the deadlines are Aug. 1.

The Fulton County Youth Fund Scholarship is designed to benefit college students who are pursing a career working with youth or children.

The Cedric L. Berdine Memorial Teaching Scholarship is for graduates of Caston High School pursuing a degree in education. The student must be a junior or senior in college for the 2011-2012 academic year at time of application.

The Eric E. Smoker Memorial Scholarship is for those college students seeking a degree in fine or graphic arts, art education or art history. The scholarship supports students majoring in painting, sculpture, drawing and architecture. Students whose major is in the area of music, literature, drama or dance are not eligible.

The Back Home Again in Indiana Scholarship is for non-traditional students including those who want to advance in their current field or re-enter the job market.

The Ginger Miller Higher Education Scholarship supports college graduates pursuing graduate school or professional school.

The Greg Peter Memorial Fund Scholarship helps graduates of Rochester High School pursing a degree in the arts and/or HVAC education at an accredited college, university, trade or vocational school.

The Fulton County 4Community Higher Education Scholarship is for students that have acquired their GED and are motivated to continue on to the next level. There is not deadline for this scholarship.
