Looking for summer activities for your children or yourself? The summer programs at Debra Collier’s School of Dance feature dance and theme camps along with an introduction to dance class, Get Up & Dance! and Zumba. From camps with the studio’s own princess to workshops with a nationally known master teacher, the studio has something for everyone. Dancers 18 months to 3 years can enjoy their first class experience with mom or a caregiver right by their side in Mommy & Me. Preschool students can take advantage of the short six-week session or enjoy a magical time at Pretty Princess Camp. Dancers 4-1/2 to 7 can be swept away in the magical moments of Barbie® and the Nutcracker, wiggle and giggle in the world of Hello Kitty® and Friends or enjoy Belle’s Ball. Boys won’t want to miss Superheroes Camp for ages 5 to 9 or Star Wars® Adventure Camp for ages 9 to 12. From the superhero training course to the waterslide in the Planetary Olympics, the camps are filled with adventure for everyone. The energy never ends in the Hip Hop Workshop for ages 10 and up or the Cheer Camp for ages 7 to 11. Exclusive to DCSD Cheer campers – girls will have a chance to showcase their accomplishments at a Michiana Thunderhawks football game. Dancers ages 8 and up will want to take advantage of the exclusive opportunity to study with master teacher Diane Gudat in the personal studio atmosphere. All camp and class sizes are limited. Auditions for casting of the studio’s third annual presentation of “An Enchanted Christmas” will be June 13, 14 and July 11. Auditions for the theatrical production are open to the community for children and young adults ages 5 to 20. Rehearsals are held on Saturdays beginning in September and there is no class fee. No experience is necessary. For class times, more information on any of these programs or to register, call the studio at 574-267-7055. Registration forms are also available at collierdance.com
