SYRACUSE – A free suicide prevention event is Tuesday at Syracuse Community Center. The event, featuring speaker Huntter Randall, is from 6 to 8 p.m. Sponsors are the Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber of Commerce, the Syracuse Police Department and the Bowen Center. Indiana ranks number one in the nation for youth who have contemplated suicide, and number two for youth who have attempted suicide, according to information from the Bowen Center, but there are prevention methods that can be used if people know how to use them.
