Studio Provides Scholarships

Posted
The recipients of four memorial scholarships recently were announced at Debra Collier's School of Dance.

The scholarships, named in memory of former students Lori Rigsby, Jacquline Egolf and Ashleigh Brunner and former dance parent Cindy Crane, were developed to offer opportunities to students through financial assistance and also encourage students through the recognition of their abilities and achievements.

Applicants were divided into age categories and each submitted a personal essay describing what type of dance holiday they would create and what it would entail.

The recipients, Desiree Lantz, daughter of John and Michelle Lantz, Ligonier; Gabrielle Bradley, daughter of Nate Bradley and Tara Bradley, Warsaw; MaKayla Hunter, daughter of Gary and LaKelia Hunter, North Manchester; and Alyssa Schneider, daughter of Mark and Karen Schneider, Warsaw, each received a class scholarship for the 2009-2010 annual season.

Debra Collier's School of Dance has been educating students since 1977 and offers a wide variety of classes for dancers of all ages and levels. The studio provides many opportunities for students to develop their interest in dance, including performance groups and fun monthly themes.

Registration for the studio's 33rd annual season is currently open and limited openings are available. For more information about the programs offered, contact the studio at 574-267-7055 or visit collierdance.com
