The recipients of four memorial scholarships recently were announced at Debra Collier's School of Dance.
The scholarships, named in memory of former students Lori Rigsby, Jacquline Egolf and Ashleigh Brunner and former dance parent Cindy Crane, were developed to offer opportunities to students through financial assistance and also encourage students through the recognition of their abilities and achievements.
Applicants were divided into age categories and each submitted a personal essay describing what inspires them to dance.
The recipients each received a class scholarship for the 2008-09 annual season. They are: Cassie Dishman, daughter of Darin Dishman and Tammy Dishman; Olivia Green, daughter of Andy and Shari Green; Sarah Kerschner, daughter of Kent and Arlene Kerschner; and Samantha Nichols, daughter of Bill Nichols and Kelly Nichols.
