Washington STEM Academy fifth-graders found a very rare find, three–ridge mussels, according to Principal Tom Ray.
The fifth-graders were taking part in their lakes and streams studies at Eagle Creek when they found the rare mussels while looking for macro-invertebrates. Three-ridge mussels are actually on the endangered list in many states.
