Madison Elementary School fourth-graders had a book signing for family and friends Thursday afternoon. According to teacher Dawn Brown, the students’ books typically take a whole school year, but this year they were done in half the time because of a press date. To create their books, students did a lot of reading, writing and editing. There was a $1.95 per book charge for the hardback, but the school PTO paid that expense. The books, titled ‘Special Me,’ were written by the students about themselves. Fourth-grade teachers at Madison are Terry Sims, Brown, Max Ketrow and Marlene Byers.
