Strong Third Quarter Leads Triton Girls Team To Victory

BOURBON -ÊFueled by a 20-3 third-quarter run, the Triton girls basketball team defeated South Central 63-30 Tuesday in Bourbon.

The Trojan were up 26-20 at the half, but after their third quarter explosion, the Triton squad went on to earn the 63-30 victory.

Missy Nifong and Betsy Salyer led the Trojans with 14 and 13 points, respectively. Nifong finished the night with a double-double after pulling down 10 rebounds as well.

Triton is now 10-6 overall. The Trojans will travel to Culver Saturday, where they will face the Cavaliers.

WAWASEE 109.5, EAST NOBLE 76.5

The Wawasee boys swim team hosted East Noble Tuesday at Wawasee Middle School and earned a 109.5-76.5 victory.

Although the Warriors earned just four first-place finishes, strong second- and third-place finishes helped Wawasee earn the win.

Guy Simmons led the Warriors with two first-place finishes in the 100 breaststroke and the 50 freestyle.

Wawasee will face Manchester at Wawasee Middle School Feb. 10.

WARSAW 125.5, FORT WAYNE SNIDER 57.5

The Warsaw Tigers earned a decisive 125.5-57.5 win over Fort Wayne Snider when they hosted the Panthers Tuesday.

Warsaw earned first-place finishes in 10 of the 12 events, including all three relays. Adam Helfrich, Justin Lowrance, David Wildman, Jason Sibray, Kiel Beehler, Brandon Moore and John Sincroft each placed first in events for the Tigers.

Warsaw will face Culver Academy Feb. 9 in Culver.
