Ciara Stout, a Warsaw Community High School senior, will have her college education paid for after receiving the Herbert Presidential Scholarship from I.U. Kokomo Friday. The award is the highest scholarship I.U. Kokomo awards. It pays for all tuition and required fees, and it comes with a laptop and an international travel scholarship, according to Dr. Todd Gambill, I.U. Kokomo vice chancellor, student affairs and enrollment management. With the travel scholarship, Stout will receive $1,000 toward an education trip during her time at I.U. Kokomo. She can choose the trip. He said I.U. Kokomo invited 43 of its best students who were admitted to the college this fall. Over 1,400 students were admitted to I.U. Kokomo this fall. Each student was interviewed by faculty members. Based on the interviews and academics, the Herbert Presidential Scholarship was awarded to four students, with Stout being one of them.
