Storyteller Knarr Will Perform Selections From Recently Released CD

SOUTH WHITLEY – Carol Knarr, former resident of South Whitley and professional storyteller, will perform selections from her recently released CD “Stories for My Mama” Dec. 10 at the South Whitley Public Library.
Knarr moved from Arizona to Indiana in 2008 to be nearer her mother.
“This collection of stories includes my mom’s favorite stories. Mom recently celebrated her 91st birthday. This storytelling project is a tribute to her,” said Knarr.
Knarr began telling stories professionally in 2000 while living in Mesa, Ariz. She has performed at the Mesa Storytelling Festival in Mesa; Pine Storytelling Festival in Pine, Ariz.; and most recently at the Umoja Festival in Johnson City, Tenn.
“Telling stories has been an adventure. I will travel to Israel in May with other professional tellers learning and performing the stories of sacred Israeli sites,” said Knarr.
The stories performed are intended for those who have ever loved an animal even through its chewing years, survived the tick-tocks of the biological clock, or learned to listen with the heart.“Mom and I have shared many stories over the years, but mom’s favorite is the story of ‘The Miracle Cat, Jingle Bell’. I’m not sure which was more challenging for the cat-living with my father or taming my big dogs,” joked Knarr.
The CD “Stories for My Mama” will be sold at the performance Dec. 10. “Stories for My Mama” can also be purchased at cdbaby.com To learn more about storytelling, visit www.carolknarr.com
