Three trees were blown over in North Webster overnight, causing damage to a house and a garage.
According to a North Webster Police Department spokesman, high winds were believed to have caused a tree to fall on the house at 201 W. Huntington St., occupied by Sherry Swinehart and her daughter. The spokesman estimated the damage at approximately $20,000. He said the tree roots may have been somewhat rotten. The damage occurred this morning at approximately 1 a.m.
The tree that fell on the garage at 502 N. Main St. was also reportedly rotten. Damage to the garage is estimated at $5,000. Information on the homeowner was unavailable.
The third tree fell in the North Webster cemetery, 507 N. Main St. It was uncertain whether or not there was any actual damage in the cemetery.
North Webster also was littered with small tree limbs "all over the place," according to the spokesman.
