Stimmelator’s Gentlemans Club owner Sam Stimmel again failed to appear before the Kosciusko County Alcoholic Beverage Board Thursday, prompting one member to motion to reject his license immediately. Stimmel was scheduled in October to speak to the board about renewal of his alcohol license. The hearing was postponed because he had obtained new legal counsel and did not attend the meeting. Board member Elim Smith moved to reject the license renewal Thursday upon the second absence. But state Excise Officer April Tackett said anyone set to appear before the board is allowed three no-shows before the board can force a hearing in their absence. “That’s being awful lenient with that guy,” Smith remarked. Also Thursday, the board approved a license renewal for Lucky’s Tavern, North Webster, after hearing from owner Jared Hamilton about two violations he received. Hamilton explained he received the violations for underage sale and allowing a minor to loiter during a visit from an undercover excise officer Feb. 3. He added that he and the server paid their fines, and that the server underwent additional training. Renewed with no citations were licenses for Applebee’s, Warsaw; Lassus Handy Dandy numbers 36 and 45, Warsaw; Pie Eyed Petey’s, Leesburg; and VFW #1342, Syracuse.
