Posted
After pleading guilty in March, Samuel Stimmel was sentenced Friday to three years probation for dealing synthetic drugs.
Stimmel, 65, of 7227 N. Syracuse-Webster Road, North Webster, was arrested for corrupt business influence, dealing synthetic drugs, promoting prostitution and dealing a schedule I controlled substance in October 2013.
On March 7, Stimmel pleaded guilty to two counts of dealing synthetic drugs, spice, and dismissed the other charges.
Stimmel appeared before Judge David Cates in Kosciusko County Superior Court Friday afternoon. Cates approved the plea deal.
Stimmel will serve three years on probation and six months on home detention. Cates stated that because Stimmel has his young children dependent on him, he is allowed to transport them to school and other events.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, undercover officers with the Syracuse Police Department were investigating alleged prostitution Oct. 24 at Stimmelator’s Gentlemen’s Club in North Webster. The officers arranged for a private party with the Stimmel, the club’s owner, where the alleged crimes took place.
