Still No Permit For El Palacio Tropical

Posted

El Palacio Tropical, 975 Anchorage Road, Warsaw, will have to wait until the Oct. 7 Alcoholic Beverage Commission meeting to have their petition heard for a renewal of their retailer permit for beer, wine and liquor sales as well as their Sunday sales permit.

The petition was continued previously because the bar/restaurant owner Salvador Martinez was not present.

Thursday, Martinez was present for the hearing but the state board in Indianapolis had not received payment for the fines Martinez owes but said he has paid.

The business was cited several months ago for 21 counts of minor loitering and three counts of selling to minors.

In another matter, Roger Clemens' petition to transfer stock of Time Out Inn, U.S. 30W, Warsaw, to Thomas Clemens was continued because Roger Clemens failed to appear. The transfer covers the retailer permit for beer, wine and liquor sales as well as Sunday sales permit.

Beer, wine and liquor retail permit renewals approved by the ABC include a permit for The Frog, Syracuse; Maxie's Restaurant, Syracuse; Claypool Inn, Claypool; The Silver Inn, Silver Lake; The Post, Pierceton; Etna Pub, Etna Green; Veterans of Foreign Wars, Syracuse.

The ABC meets at 2 p.m. in the courthouse on the first Thursday of each month.
