Steven Ray Salmons, 46, of Warsaw, went home to be with his Lord and Savior at 5:45 p.m. Oct. 24, 2012, in his residence.

He was born March 29, 1966, in Warsaw, to Raymond and Carol Ousley Salmons, who both survive. On Oct. 14, 1996, he married Deanna Carol Johnson, who survives.

He graduated in 1984 from Tippecanoe Valley High School, and that same year he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving as a light wheel vehicle mechanic until his honorable discharge in 1988. He worked at Da-Lite Screen Co. and Monaco Coach Corp. until starting with Superior Wood Products, Warsaw, in 2005, working there until his passing as the production manager. He was a member of New Life Christian Church and World Outreach, Warsaw, and the National Cur Breeders Association.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife; two sons, Cody (and spouse Rachel) Salmons, Norfolk, Va., and Hunter Salmons, Warsaw; a daughter, Hannah Salmons, Warsaw; two grandchildren; a brother, Anthony (and spouse Tami) Salmons, Fort Wayne; and a sister, Eva Mudd-Shaun, Mentone. He was preceded in death by two infant sons, Lane Salmons, who died in 1997, and Logan Salmons, who died in 1998; and a brother, Terry.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, with Pastor John B. Lowe officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military rites by American Legion Post 49 and Veterans of Foreign Wars 1126, both in Warsaw, and active members of the Indiana ARNG Honor Guard.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
